Huawei just announced its two flagships for 2017, the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Both phones pack top-notch specs and large screens. The Mate 10 is priced at 699 and the Mate 10 Pro at 799.
Shenzhen, Guangdong -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/17/2017 -- Huawei just announced its latest flagship device, the Huawei Mate 10 and the slight different model, Mate 10 Pro. The two phones both pack the Huawei-made Kirin 960 processor. Both models introduce 3D glass backs and aluminum body. The standard Mate 10 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage while the Mate 10 Pro will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
There are, in fact, a lot of differences between the two flagships that the company just announced. The Huawei Mate 10, which features a gigantic 5.9-inch LCD display with the resolution of 2560×1440, has a totally different design compared to the Mate 10 Pro, which sports a 6-inch OLED display with the resolution of 2160×1080. Convert videos with the right parameters and watching them on the Mate 10 Pro would be more immersive than on regular phones thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio. The aspect ratios of the screens of the two phones are totally different. The Mate 10 looks more angular and wide while the Mate 10 pro has a narrower figure thanks to the difference of the screen. Both phones have a back covered by glass, which makes both phones look slicker and at the same time, fragile compared to the last generation of the Mate series phones. The frame of both phones, however, remains aluminum.
When it comes to specs, the two phones are quite similar. Both phones sport Kirin 960, Huawei's own Octa-core CPU. The Huawei Mate 10 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage while the Mate 10 Pro has a larger 6GB of RAM and double the Internal Storage of 128GB. What makes the standard Mate 10 stands out is that it's got a MicroSD card slot and the 3.5mm headphone jet while the Pro model hasn't. Also the two phones have the same 20MP and 12MP cameras on the back, an 8MP camera on the front and a 4000mAh battery.
The Mate 10 has the price tag of 699 (about $825) and the Mate 10 Pro is set at 799 (about $943)for the European market. But the two phones will not be released at the same time and the Mate 10 Pro would be available later than the Mate 10 as the manufacturing process of the phone is different than the Mate 10. The Mate 10 will be available later this month in more than fifteen markets and the Mate 10 Pro will be released in Mid-November.
